Prince Harry's tell-all memoir has reportedly made the Royal Family feel "nervous" as they are forced to wait for an advance copy of the book. The Duke of Sussex shocked his royal relatives with his memoir announcement, as Buckingham Palace dread a similar scenario to the Sussexes explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey in March.

An insider told US Weekly: "They haven't received a copy yet and don't know what to expect - it's making them nervous."

Royal commentator Joe Drake said: "Anticipating it in late 2022, we now have a year and a half to contemplate what is in this thing and if it was my sibling that there were issues with, I would be losing sleep."

Co-host of the channel Royally Us Molly Mulshine added: "Every family has stupid fights and things that sound awful ten years down the line."

Prince Charles and Prince William are said to be particularly concerned about the contents of the memoir.

Members of the Royal Family are keen to avoid a similar situation to that of the Oprah Winfrey interview, with caused a PR crisis for Buckingham Palace.

In their explosive two-hour interview with the US chat show host, Harry and Meghan detailed their reasons for leaving the Royal Family.

It was claimed that members of the family had ignored the couple's mental health, the Palace aides refused to correct damaging articles about the Duchess, and that their son was refused his birthright title.

Prince Harry also spoke about his strained relationship with both his brother and father, whilst Meghan revealed that an unnamed senior member of the Royal Family had made a racist remark about their unborn son.

Speaking about the likelihood of the Royal Family refuting Prince Harry's claims in his memoir, Joe Drake said "I think if there are strong accusations like the racial things that came out after that interview, yes."

"If it's just more of a truthful telling of his life and talking about growing up and Princess Diana and being in the military, I think they'll leave it alone."

Prince Harry and Penguin Random House announced the book deal on Monday.

In a statement, the Duke of Sussex said “I’m writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become."

"I’ve worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story – the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned – I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think."

The autobiography will be ghostwritten by Pulitzer prize-winning writer J. R. Moehringer, who has previously profiled Nike founder Phil Knight.

Publishers at Penguin Random House said, "In an intimate and heartfelt memoir from one of the most fascinating and influential global figures of our time, Prince Harry will share, for the very first time, the definitive account of the experiences, adventures, losses, and life lessons that have helped shape him."

The memoir is expected to detail the Prince's childhood, tours of Afghanistan, his life as a working royal, and the background behind Megxit.

Due to be released in the autumn of 2022, proceeds from the book will be donated to charity.
