SEKINCHAN: The level of compliance on the ceiling price of RM19.90 for Covid-19 self-test kits in Selangor has been good as no action or warnings have been issued by the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry so far.
The ministry’s Selangor director Muhammad Zikril Azan Abdullah said although two complaints regarding the kits being sold above the ceiling price were recorded, no action was taken against the traders.
“We received both complaints in the Petaling district involving the Shah Alam area. When we reviewed the complaints and found that the traders had complied with the instructions, no action was taken against them.
“Since Sept 5, we have carried out inspections at 564 premises covering the distribution, wholesale and retail sectors for self-test kits in Selangor.
“Generally, all traders have set prices lower than the ceiling price,” he told reporters yesterday.
He urged consumers to lodge complaints if there was a violation on the sale price of kits either at the premises or online, by calling the call centre at 1800 886 800; Enforcement Command Centre (ECC) at 03-8882 6245 /6088; WhatsApp 019-279 4317 or at any of the ministry’s seven offices in Selangor. — Bernama
