JOHOR BARU: Police here have arrested six men on Monday (Feb 7) after they tested positive for drugs during Ops Pemutihan Bersepadu which was conducted around Johor Baru city.
Johor Baru South (JBS) OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat said the operation was conducted from 5pm to 10.30pm on Monday.
“The six suspects were among the 39 individuals whose urine was tested after being detained during the operation,’’ he said in a statement.
ACP Raub said the six men tested positive for drugs and were detained under Section 15 (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
He said at the same time, 22 foreigners were examined, adding that one woman failed to produce valid identification documents.
ACP Raub said she was handed over to the Johor Baru South police district headquarters’ Narcotics Crime Investigation Department for further action.
“We have also arrested a local man wanted for offences under Section 402 of the Penal Code,’’ he said, adding that those who tested negative for drugs were released unconditionally.
ACP Raub said the operations involved seven senior officers from the JBS police district headquarters and 51 rank and file personnel from police stations under the jurisdiction of the police district headquarters.
