PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia will shorten the dosing interval for AstraZeneca vaccine recipients to nine weeks from 12 weeks, says Khairy Jamaluddin.

The National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme coordinating minister said this was the recommendation made to the Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV) by its technical working group.

“Those who participated in the first round of AstraZeneca (opt-in programme) will be notified of their appointment soon,” said Khairy in a Twitter post on Thursday (July 1).

Based on the recommendation from our Technical Working Group & with greater clarity of the delivery schedule, @JKJAVMY has decided to shorten the dosing interval for AZ from 12 to nine weeks. Those who participated in the first round of AZ will be notified of their 2nd appt soon.
