Those dreaming of a Greek getaway without the heaving mass of tourists often seen in the Cyclades are in luck with this Greek gem.

Found beyond the well-trodden paths, you will find an Instragammable Greek island hotspot.

The region provides endless Instagrammable moments and has remained a somewhat best-kept travel secret.

This southern Aegean island is a favourite among the Hollywood elite including Tom Hanks and Matthew McConaughey - and it's easy to see why with its idyllic setting and endless luxurious hotels and villas.

Think traditional taverns, scatterings of olive trees, mouthwatering Greek cuisine and pristine beaches all with a low-key vibe and you’ll get the magic that is Antiparos.

The region of Antiparos lies within the Cyclades Islands and is less than one nautical mile 1.18 miles (1.9 km) from Paros.

Despite its location near the main Greek islands, Antiparos is a stark contrast to its partying neighbours, Mykonos and Santorini.

The region greatly differs from these tourist-filled spots. It may not be as cosmopolitan or commercialised, but it has recently become a popular destination for jet-setters from across the world.

The island is only 6.8 miles from north to south with a maximum width reaching 2.8 miles but despite its size it packs a real punch.

Here you will find crystal clear beaches with castle ruins and a majestic cave to explore.

The ancient Cave of Antiparos is an absolute must-see on the island and is one of the largest landmarks in Europe featuring momentous stalactites and stalagmites.

Other top sites to visit while exploring Antiparos include the Venetian Castle, the Church of Agios Ioannis Spiliotis, Cycladic Art Museum and its endless beaches.

One review on TripAdvisor wrote of Faneromeni Beach saying: “Beautiful beach off the beaten path in Antiparos. The road was quite rocky, but it was so worth it.”

Another added: “The water is so very blue and clear and the rock formations on each side make it look like a naturally shaped pool.”

When it comes to culinary delights, Antiparos truly shines with fresh seafood found throughout including octopus - which some say is the best in the world.

Other delights to savour on this Greek getaway include an array of pork dishes, rabbit, snails with sun-dried whitebait and lobster in oil served in a white broth are all worth the hype.

Antiparos is located a stone’s throw away from its bigger neighbour paros and is accessible from there either by ferry or car ferry.

Once here, peace and tranquillity with endless beauty as far as the eye can see all awaits in this less crowded Greek hotspot.
