PUTRAJAYA: The Prime Minister will not be attending the swearing in ceremony for ministers and deputy ministers as he is undergoing self-quarantine after coming into contact with a Covid-19 patient.
The event to be held at Istana Negara is scheduled to begin at 2.30pm on Monday (Aug 30).
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob will undergo self-quarantine beginning Aug 30.
However, his office did not disclose details on where Ismail Sabri had been in contact with the Covid-19 patient.
“As he will be observing quarantine, the Prime Minister will not be attending the swearing-in ceremony of ministers and deputy ministers before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Biollah Shah this afternoon,” said the PMO.
The statement also said that the Prime Minister will only be participating in the National Day 2021 celebration virtually on Tuesday.
The celebration will be held at Dataran Pahlawan Negara here at the federal administrative capital.
