PETALING JAYA: Manual toll collection will be implemented at some toll lanes after flash floods damaged toll systems at the Awan Besar toll plaza (Shah Alam Expressway) on Monday (March 7).
A spokesperson for Kesas Sdn Bhd said that handheld readers would be handled by Kesas employees temporarily in a number multiclass lanes until repairs to toll systems were completed.
The spokesperson confirmed that only the systems in multiclass lanes were damaged by the flash floods but would remain open to traffic.
"We are rectifying the communications line for toll systems which were submerged during the flash flood.
"Inspection and recovery works at the toll plaza are underway after water overflowing from Sungai Kuyoh receded around 5:40pm on Monday and cars that have been stranded are also getting cleared.
"RFID, smartag, TNG lanes were unaffected and are operating as normal."
