Five suspects arrested for selling illegal top ups in Cheras condo raid

       KUALA LUMPUR: Police have busted a crime syndicate that sold illegal reward cards and unauthorised Touch ‘n Go top ups.

       City Commercial Crime Investigation Department chief Asst Comm Mahidisham Ishak, in a statement, said that five people were arrested after a raid at a condominium in Cheras on Wednesday (March 16).

       "The suspects are aged between 30 and 46. Among the items seized were 1,400 TNG cards, 5,200 rewards cards and a card reader that we believe was used to illegally top up the cards.

       "Investigations showed that the syndicate had been active since March 2021 and the cards with the illegal top ups had been sold within the Klang Valley area," he said on Thursday (March 17).

       The suspects, of whom two are foriegn women, have been remanded until March 19.

       "We advise all to avoid any unauthorised top up activities," he said.
