Covid-19: 5,812 new cases, Selangor still top with 2,187

       PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 5,812 new cases, bringing the nation's cumulative total to 722,659.

       In a tweet on Friday (June 25), the Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Selangor still has the highest number of cases with 2,187.

       This is followed by Kuala Lumpur with 771 cases, Sarawak (673), Negri Sembilan (658), Penang (270), Melaka (223), Johor (196), Kedah (186), Sabah (156), Pahang (139), Labuan (123), Kelantan (98), Perak (72), Terengganu (46) and Putrajaya (14).

       Perlis had zero new cases.

       Another 82 people died from Covid-19, taking the death toll to 4,803.

       Currently, 870 patients are under treatment in intensive care units (ICU), with 433 on ventilators.

       In the same 24-hour span, 6,775 patients were discharged from treatment.

       This means 657,739 people in Malaysia have recovered from the coronavirus.

       At present, there are 60,117 active cases in the country.
