KUALA LUMPUR: Several top Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) leaders have been seen gathering on Sunday (Aug 15) for a party meeting amidst speculation of the Prime Minister resigning.
Deputy Health Minister Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali arrived at Publika here at about 8.45am, followed by Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Datuk Kamarudin Jaffar shortly after.
At 8.50am, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed also was seen entering the building.
Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah and Deputy Higher Education Minister Datuk Mansor Othman both arrived at the same time at about 8.52 am.
Kuala Langat MP Datuk Dr Xavier Jayakumar, who is an independent, was also spotted attending the meeting.
Several media personnel have been on standby as early as 8am for the much-anticipated meeting.
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will seek an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on Monday (Aug 16), with all indications pointing towards a decision to step down from his post.
Top Cabinet sources said the Prime Minister had already informed Perikatan Nasional government leaders and officials of his intention at a meeting here on Saturday (Aug 14) afternoon.
