Cornwall Coroner's Court heard how the talented mum-of-two was enjoying a holiday break with Thomas Tripp when tragedy struck.

The couple hired an electric tuk tuk and were on their way to Manavgat Bazaar when they were hit behind by a vehicle.

Vikki was rushed to a different hospital and given urgent care and underwent surgery, but sadly her numerous injuries were unsurvivable.

Sadly, Thomas Tripp had no recollection of the incident when he woke up in hospital and was later informed what had happened.

The pair had asked for helmets but were told by the company they weren't necessary and it wasn't law to wear them in Turkey.

Heartbroken Thomas told the inquest he was comfortable operating the tuk tuk with Vikki sat behind him as he had done so with no problems the day before.

And he added that the bike was in good condition and the weather fine, reports CornwallLive.

Thomas suffered a fracture to the back and cuts and grazes but was able to return home on discharge from hospital.

The driver of the car that hit the tuk tuk was arrested and legal proceedings against him were launched in Turkey.

Concluding the inquest, assistant coroner for Cornwall Emma Hillson recounted the facts of the day of the tragedy before returning a conclusion of road traffic collision.

She also offered her condolences to the family.

Paying emotional tribute to Vikki following her passing her daughter Keziah Sutherns said: "For those of you who knew my mum, she was a very proud woman who struggled to ask for help even though she struggled greatly throughout her life with her ill health.

"She was always stoic in the face of adversity and she would never put herself first.

"She always put her best foot forward despite her difficulties. My mum was a beautiful soul who cared so deeply for nature and everyone around her."

More than £3,500 was raised by well-wishers towards her funeral cost.
