According to the initial findings, one of the trams unexpectedly took a different track.

After diverting, the moving tram collided with a second tram that was stationary.

The Bas-Rhin national police confirmed on X that an incident had occurred and that "tram traffic was interrupted in both directions at Strasbourg station".

Bas-Rhin fire and rescue service also said on X: "Tram accident at the Gare Centrale stop at Strasbourg. Numerous resources mobilised. Avoid the areas of Place des Halles, Gare, Boulevard du Président Wilson and facilitate access for emergency services.”
