PETALING JAYA: Perlis, Kelantan and Terengganu are among the states expected to transition into Phase Two of the National Recovery Plan (NRP).

       A report by Astro Awani said a decision to end the lockdown in several states had been agreed by the government based on the Covid-19 infectivity rate in those states.

       The report, quoting sources, said the transition plan was presented to Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin several days ago.

       “This is to prevent states that are showing positive developments in terms of recovery from being held back because of the high number of cases in Selangor.

       “This is in line with the NRP and not a one-size-fits-all solution,” the source was quoted as saying.

       The source added that the government was also expected to tighten controls in Selangor.

       Under Phase Two of the NRP, more economic sectors will be allowed to operate.

       The country is still under the first phase of the NRP.

       Meanwhile in Klang, Sunway Construction LRT 3 Centralised Labour Quarters at Johan Setia was placed under the enhanced movement control order from yesterday until July 13 after more than 100 workers living there tested positive for Covid-19.

       Klang district Disaster Management Committee chairman Mohd Zainal Mohd Nor said the project’s workers’ accommodation is 1.34ha with a parameter of 493.1m and has four blocks of quarters that accommodate 284 workers from the LRT 3 construction site.

       “Out of the 284 workers, 156 tested positive for Covid-19 while the remaining 128 were close contacts,’’ said Mohd Zainal, who is also Klang district officer.

       “The enhanced MCO is also to ensure that foreign workers who are positive and undergoing home isolation and close contacts under home quarantine remain within the area,’’ he added.

       It is one of four localities in Selangor placed under the enhanced MCO. The others are located in Rawang, Sepang and Bangi.
