KLUANG: The Johor government will be making some tweaks to its state Budget 2022, which is expected to be tabled by the end of November.
Mentri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad said this comes after the Federal Government tabled Budget 2022 in Parliament on Friday (Oct 29).
"We made many requests to the Federal Government but Johor will be receiving 11% or RM865mil in allocation out of Budget 2022, which is meant for the state government’s management," he added.
Hasni said this when met after handing out land grants to Kampung Sri Maju and Kampung Bukit Nyamuk villagers at Renggam mini stadium here on Saturday (Oct 30).
He added the state government would be making some amendments and updates to their Budget to ensure that it would help everyone.
"The changes will be for our several initiatives under the Johor Budget 2022 to make sure that no one would be left behind under the Federal’s Budget," he said.
Hasni however thanked Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob for making sure that the state would be part of helping the nation to recover from the Covid-19 pandemic.
He cited the RM10mil allocation to build a business travellers centre in Johor as timely as the state was known as the country’s southern gateway.
"The centre will help business travellers who want to come here for a short period of time to know more about investment opportunities available.
"This will help us attract more investors from our neighbour in Singapore where the centre is able to give them confidence about investing in Johor," he said.
