TWO people have been charged with killing a 16-year-old girl found dead in her bed at home.

       Kaylea Louise Titford was discovered "pale, cold and could not be woken" at her home in Newton, Wales, on October 10, 2020.

       The teenager suffered from "multiple medical issues" and was mainly bed bound and immobile.

       Alun Titford, 44, and Sarah Lloyd-Jones, 39, have now been charged with gross negligence manslaughter and causing or allowing the death of a child or vulnerable person.

       The pair will appear at Welshpool Magistrates' Court on March 22.

       An inquest into Kaylea's death heard her mother had gone to check on her the night before she died but the teen didn't complain of feeling ill.

       Her mum discovered her unwell in bed at around 7.45am the next morning.

       The teen was declared dead around 27 minutes later.

       A cause of death was given as "inflammation and infection in extensive areas of ulceration arising from obesity and it's complications in a girl with spina bifida and hydrocephalus".

       Dyfed-Powys Police launched an investigation into Kaylea's death shortly after and confirmed two people had been arrested.

       A full inquest was adjourned until the conclusion of the criminal investigation.
