SEGAMAT: Barisan Nasional is targeting a two-thirds majority of seats in the Johor election, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The Umno vice-president said that Barisan has a good chance to win the Johor polls but needs to secure more than a simple majority.
“Our election machinery must work hard as long as we have not won yet.
“We do not want just a simple majority. If possible, we want Barisan to get a two-thirds majority,” added Ismail Sabri.
“Barisan’s chances... are good, but before the final whistle is blown and a winner is declared, we cannot say we have won,” he told reporters after launching the Rumah Keluarga Malaysia Angkatan Tentera programme at Segamat Camp here on Sunday (March 6).
Ismail Sabri added that Barisan’s election machinery must continue to work hard as they cannot rely on confidence alone to win the polls.
Polling day for the Johor polls is on March 12 and early voting on March 8.
Barisan has fielded candidates in all 56 seats in the Johor polls.
