Super typhoon Yagi moved toward southern China on Friday, packing heavy rain and strong winds, closing schools and business, and disrupting travel.
The storm was upgraded to a super typhoon, as maximum sustained winds reached about 150 miles per hour on Friday, equivalent to a Category 4 hurricane, according to the U.S. Navy’s Joint Typhoon Warning Center.
