It has been reported Prince William's wife is not expected to attend the unveiling of Princess Diana's statue on Thursday. However, according to a poll of Express.co.uk readers, the majority think the royal should join her husband as he reunites with Prince Harry for the sombre event. A total of 64 percent of those who participated in the poll stated "yes" to the idea of Kate attending the unveiling of Princess Diana's statue.

       Those that voted 'no' numbered 34 percent, with only 2 percent stating that they "don't know".

       A statue to commemorate the late Princess of Wales will be unveiled on Thursday, July 1.

       This Thursday would have been Princess Diana's 60th birthday.

       Prince William will be joined by his younger brother Prince Harry for the event, who flew over from the US last week.

       Referring to the upcoming event, one Express reader stated: "Kate's probably wise to give miserable, disagreeable Harry a wide birth.

       "Their private Cambridge family visit to Diana's statue is a much better idea."

       Another reader disagreed and thought that "Kate and William should not let Harry and Meghan interfere in their lives or control them.

       "They should do whatever is right for Kate and William."

       A third said: "Yes absolutely. She should be there to support her husband at this emotional time. If Madam Megan can't be bothered to attend then that's Harry's problem."

       While a fourth added: "Of course the Duchess of Cambridge should attend, this is her husband's mother, and Catherine is Prince William's wife."

       A total of 1,825 participants said yes to Kate's attendance.

       Those that voted for no numbered 886.

       Only 54 participants said that they "don't know".

       A total of 2,765 people took part in the poll.

       The poll was conducted from 29 June, from 1pm, to 10.30pm on the same day.
