Far-right activist Tommy Robinson has been kicked out of a restaurant in London after staff "felt uncomfortable" serving him in the wake of his latest court appearance. Video posted on X shows Robinson, 42, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, eating out with others at Hawksmoor steakhouse in Air Street.

       The footage was posted by Guramit Singh Kalirai, who tweeted: "Just been kicked out of Hawksmoor steak house for no reason. Literally juts had our starters." Mr Singh Kalirai, who describes himself as a "veteran" of the English Defence League, included pictures of oysters and members of the party smiling as they sat around a table at the swish central London eatery.

       The video shows a staff member telling the diners: "Members of staff feel uncomfortable serving you." To which Mr Singh Kalirai replies: "Is it because of the colour of my skin?"

       In response, the staff member says: "No, no, no. We have a duty of care to our members of staff. We like to look after our people as I'm sure you can understand."

       The restaurant employee then hands over a business card for Hawksmoor's Chief Executive, inviting Robinson to contact him by email if he has any questions.

       He then tells the group not to worry about paying for their drinks, suggesting the venue would cover the cost, before adding: "I'm very sorry. I hope it hasn't inconvenienced you."

       The clip then cuts to Mr Singh Kalirai asking: "Have you seen that? We've just been kicked out of the steak house. Been sat here for a f***ing hour. We are sat here with the celebrities."

       It ends with footage of Robinson, studying the business card and tapping on a mobile phone.

       Will Beckett, Co-Founder and CEO, Hawksmoor, said: "On Thursday, a public figure was asked to leave one of our restaurants because guests and staff felt uncomfortable and had complained. The party left peacefully and politely on request.

       "This was not about politics or beliefs. Hawksmoor is not a political organisation - we're a group of restaurants. We want to welcome as many people as possible, regardless of background or views, to our teams or as our guests.

       "We're not trying to engage in a public debate. The team has had to deal with a huge amount of fallout from this, some of which is quite concerning.

       "We would like to get back to focussing on looking after those people, and our guests. Thank you to them, and the many of you who have been so supportive."

       The footage was posted at lunchtime on Thursday (June 5) - the day Robinson pleaded not guilty to two counts of harassment causing fear of violence at Westminster Magistrates' Court.

       He is alleged to have harassed MailOnline journalists Andrew Young and Jacob Dirnhuber via his X account between August 5 and 7 2024.

       During the hearing, which lasted about 20 minutes, Robinson was told his case could be heard at a magistrates' courtx, but instead the defendant opted for a jury trial held at a crown court.

       On the charges, prosecutor Ben Holt told the court: "It is alleged the defendant has harassed two journalists and their family members through the use of a Twitter or X account."

       He added none of the alleged harassment contained "direct threats of violence".

       Robinson said outside the court after the hearing: "I've been given now the opportunity to have a jury trial. I've never had that.

       "I want to be tried by twelve members of the British public. I want them to hear the evidence in this case."

       He was released on bail. Robinson is expected to enter a plea at a hearing on July 3.
