TOKYO -- Japan's capital recorded 25 new COVID-19 cases on Nov. 3, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has announced.
The capital reported 18 cases the previous day.
The capital recorded 2,176 total COVID-19 cases in October for an average of 70.2 cases per day, a steep drop from September's 31,842 total cases (an average of 1,061.4 per day) and the 125,606 infections (an average of 4,051.8 per day) tallied in August.
By Nov. 2, 3,149 people had died of COVID-19 in Tokyo since the pandemic began in Japan in the spring of 2020.
Tokyo has recorded 381,707 infections to date, the most among Japan's 47 prefectures. As of Nov. 2, there were 130 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Tokyo, 14 with severe symptoms.
