KUALA LUMPUR: The SMART Tunnel has been reopened to traffic from 11.10am Tuesday (Dec 21) after completion of cleaning works.

       Syarikat Mengurus Air Banjir dan Terowong Sdn Bhd (SMART), in a statement, said the mechanical and electrical inspection and rectification process have also been carried out to ensure all equipment are in good condition and safe before the SMART Highway Tunnel is reopened for road users.

       "The SMART team and Tunnel Management will continue to monitor the needs of the SMART operation and ensure the preparedness of the team is at its best at all times,” it said.

       The tunnel was closed to users for the activation of the flood system following heavy rains sinceFriday (Dec 17). - Bernama
