       Students were evacuated from two Montgomery County high schools Monday as police there were again forced to respond to bomb threats targeting schools that ultimately proved unfounded.

       The schools were Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, a previous target, and Rockville High School in Rockville. By 1:30 p.m. police had searched and cleared those campus, and students and staff were allowed back inside.

       About 11 a.m., Blair was reported to be in shelter-in-place status. Police later said students were being asked to leave the school so officers could “fully sweep” the campus for explosives.

       By noon, officers from the county and Rockville police departments were investigating an anonymous bomb threat targeting Rockville high. “Students, faculty and staff have evacuated the building,” police said over social media.

       By 1:30 p.m., though, the threat had been “determined not valid,” officials said.

       Over the past few weeks, police in Montgomery have received such threats purportedly targeting schools, but none has been found to be credible, a police spokeswoman said Monday.

       “Making false bomb threats to schools is entirely improper as it instills fear, anxiety, and disrupts incredibly important time that students and teachers have together to advance their learning,” Christopher Cram, a schools spokesman, said in an email Monday.
