The royal expert claimed that Prince George is "full of mischief" and enjoys the pranks he plays on his younger siblings. Mr Larcombe said the young Prince George, who will soon turn eight years old, is full of fun. However, he said that his parents Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, want their son to stay down-to-earth and have promised to give a normal upbringing for their children.

       Speaking to OK! author Duncan Larcombe said the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge want to ensure their seven-year-old boy does not grow up in a "goldfish bowl".

       Mr Larcombe said: "Although Prince George might be future King of the Castle, he's not King of the Castle yet.

       "He's not Little Lord Fauntleroy.

       "He's a rascal, almost eight-year-old and full of mischief and always playing tricks and pranks on his younger sister and brother.

       "Hopefully George can enjoy all the benefits of royal life, but without the extraordinary, weird impact of growing up in a goldfish bowl.

       "They will have to explain the extraordinary circumstances he's been born into and hope, as a result, his head doesn't pop.

       "They also hope he doesn't become a complete lunatic, as has happened to some members of his family."

       Royal author Robert Lacey wrote in his newly released book 'Battle of Brothers', how Prince William wanted his son George to have a normal life for as long as possible.

       The book also describes how Prince William would break the news gradually to his son Prince George that he would be the future British king.

       The Duke of Cambridge is said to be following this strategy as he wants to give his son George "the precious gift of normality".

       Prince William is meant to have had the conversation with Prince George "sometime around the boy's seventh birthday" in summer 2020.

       Royal author Mr Lacey wrote: "William has not revealed to the world how and when he broke the big news to his son.

       "Maybe one day George will tell us the story himself.

       "But sometime around the boy's seventh birthday in the summer of 2020 it is thought that his parents went into more detail about what the little prince's life of future royal 'service and duty' would particularly involve.

       "William's aim as a father, the prince stressed, was to give his son 'a normal family upbringing'.

       "He wants to enable the monarchy 'to stay relevant and keep up with modern times'."
