       IKARUGA, Nara -- A local man in his 50s who works in the medical profession has had four rounds of the coronavirus vaccine, the government of this west Japan town revealed Sept. 14.

       He reportedly is suffering no adverse health effects. The Ikaruga Municipal Government said that the man, a resident of the town, received two priority vaccinations outside Nara Prefecture in May and June, and two more in July and August in the town.

       His total of four shots was discovered after a record of his vaccinations outside the prefecture was conveyed to the town office at the end of August through the prefectural National Health Insurance Organization.

       The man falsely filled in his application for local vaccination in Ikaruga, stating that he had yet to be inoculated. He has reportedly told the city government: "I wanted to protect myself from mutant strains. I'm sorry."
