MORE than a quarter of Brits have already started their Christmas shopping — as supply and delivery driver shortages threaten to make finding gifts tougher.
Some 45 per cent say they plan to shun big online retailers to avoid disappointment with 31 per cent set to shop locally instead, a survey said.

Almost half of those polled said they aim to buy bigger and more considerate gifts — and just over half said they had more cash to spend thanks to the Covid lockdowns.
Nearly half also said they aim to have at least started buying gifts by October. But despite their best intentions, 59 per cent admitted they would probably end up buying last minute gifts on Amazon.
Digital customer specialists Sitecore, which surveyed 1,000 shoppers, said: “Retailers will undoubtedly face supply chain disruption, which could mean frustrated customers and negative reviews.
“The winners will be those that match the levels of service and speed of online, manage their supply chain risk well, and create exciting personalised in-person shopping.
