KOTA KINABALU: Walk-in vaccinations are being carried out in an orderly manner and standard operating procedures are in place at vaccine centres, says Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.
The minister in charge of Covid-19 matters in Sabah said this in response to photos of crowds of people at vaccination centres state-wide after Sabah allowed walk-in vaccinations to be conducted from Wednesday (Aug 11).
“Everything is being done in an orderly manner and SOPs are actually in place. This is a good sign that more people realise the need for vaccination,” said Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun when contacted on Sunday (Aug 15).
Masidi said that he had also received photos of large crowds of people queuing up to get their jabs along with messages of concern.
Photos of large crowds of people waiting in line at various vaccination centres including the Sabah International Convention Center (SICC) here had been making rounds in social media, with many asking if such situations would create new Covid-19 clusters.
Masidi said there were already many vaccination centres state-wide and said that people should look at the issue differently.
“It shows that people are taking vaccination seriously,” he reiterated, in adding that health officials have also started to give in-situ inoculations, especially in areas under an enhanced movement control order.
