KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah government must ensure that vaccination centres (PPV) that allow walk-ins are properly organised with SOPs in place, says Parti Warisan Sabah vice-president Datuk Junz Wong.
He said large crowds were seen at such centres, which could further aggravate the spiralling Covid-19 situation in the state.
"The state must come up with another plan with proper SOP for walk-in vaccinations," he said in a statement on Thursday (Aug 12).
There have been reports of many walk-in vaccination centres across the state where there is little or no SOP compliance in the rush to get vaccinated.
Wong said the state government should only allow walk-ins for those who are registered on MySejahtera but have not received an appointment date.
He said that the state could also consider opening walk-in vaccination centres specifically for those without MySejahtera registration.
He said the idea of allowing walk-ins was good but it should be more organised.
On Wednesday (Aug 11), Sabah allowed walk-ins for Malaysians and foreigners at PPVs state-wide in an effort to ramp up vaccinations.
