A MAN has been left furious after spotting a neighbour's "creepy" camera sat on top of a radio tower overlooking his parent's garden.

The disgruntled Reddit user was puzzled by the intrusive positioning of the security feature that sits above neighbouring homes in Melbourne, Australia.

He shared some pictures of the prying eye in the sky while asking social media users if they agreed it was unreasonable.

The man explained he had visited his parent's home and spotted the snoopy device attached to the nosy neighbour's radio attenna.

Despite understanding the huge installation was originally placed there so the resident could fulfill his "hobby", he said it "feels wrong" that the added camera now overlooks other locals back gardens.

He wrote in the post: "I’ve just come over to visit my parents and over the week their neighbour has added what looks like a decent quality security camera to the top of his hobby radio antenna.

"I just noticed it and felt like it wasn’t right, he’s got cameras for his property (which I can understand) but one that high up and can be turned to look into other neighbours’ backyards just feels wrong."

Hundreds of Redditers supported the concerned son's uneasiness, with some branding the camera "creepy", while others even suggested he destroy it.

The man also said the radio antenna often interferes with his parent's television as well as being quite the eyesore.

He added: "I’ve got no idea why he needs one that high up, occasionally a couple channels on my parents’ TV would get crappy signal from what I would assume be him using his radios.

"Just felt unsure since it’s the first time seeing something like this in the middle of the suburbs."

The strange setup of the CCTV caused a stir amongst Reddit users, who branded the camera an invasion of privacy.

One wrote: "That’s creepy. Bad enough for your parents, but if there are folks with second storey bedrooms anywhere near there’s nothing to stop this from surveilling their windows."

Another added: "Maybe you can make a call to your local council to voice your privacy concerns.

"I sunbathe naked in my backyard and would be VERY uncomfortable with this."

       NOSY OR NICE?

While a third chimed in: "If it looks into anyones property and front street but his own, it’s not on!"

But others suggested the neighbour's could simply be using the camera to watch the weather or as a security measure and urged the man's parent's to politely raise the issue with their neighbour.

A Reddit user commented: "Ask him. It could be a camera tied to a weather station and completely innocent."

"Talk to your neighbour. I'm guessing weather station. Nobody is going to waste their time with a camera that high," another said.

We previously told how one man claimed he has been unable to relax in his garden since his next-door neighbour installed a doorbell camera.

Mark Fairman, 55, hasn't used his outdoor space in over a year because his neighbour's Ring camera films straight into his yard in Foxbar, Paisley, leaving him with "no privacy".

But another furious resident was left extremley grateful for her backyard CCTV system - after watching her neighbours use her garden while she was at work.

The woman made the shocking discovery when she decided to install an outdoor camera after noticing unusual movements in her garden.
