THIS is the dramatic moment a McDonald's worker whacks a female customer with a BROOM in a late-night fight in South London.

       Chaos erupted at the fast-food chain just before midnight on Friday in Peckham as customers were allegedly left waiting nearly an HOUR for their food.

       In the clip, one woman in McDonald's uniform can be seen hitting a customer with a broom - whacking her over the head in the vicious attack.

       She continues to slam the sweeper at the shoe-less woman - who then plunges towards her in the Friday night skirmish.

       As they scramble into the corner, the staff member continues to hit her with the black broom as other customers swooped in to break up the chaos.

       In a back-and-forth to try to get the two women off each other, a security guard can then be seen dragging the brawling customer to the ground.

       He then gets on top of her as she shouts - and pins her arms to the floor in a bid to calm the situation.

       Following the broom fight, onlooking customers were all kicked out of the fast-food restaurant - many without the food that they had already paid for.

       The brawl erupted in the South London chain after customers allegedly started complaining about how long they were waiting for their McDonald's meals.

       According to one witness, people were left waiting for their Big Macs and chicken nuggets for over 45 minutes before the fight broke out.

       One man, who witnessed the fight, told The Sun Online: "The food was taking ages to arrive, I think it was at least 45 minutes. People started getting angry.

       "Then the worker came out and starting hitting a woman with a broom.

       "The customer was pinned to the ground, she was just standing on the side before. There were a few people egging others on.

       "Then the security kicked us out without a refund, and we had spent a lot on the food. It's disgusting, a disgrace."

       A McDonald’s spokesperson said: "The safety and security of our people and customers is our absolute priority and we do not tolerate any form of anti-social behaviour in our restaurants.

       "It is therefore deeply disappointing to see how this situation was handled and we are investigating the incident fully as a matter of urgency."
