       NETIZENS bandied together to help a desperate welder after he flew a white flag outside his home in desperate need for help for his family, Harian Metro reported.

       Zulkiflie Samsudin, 39, decided to hoist the flag outside his home in Taman Pulai Indah, Johor Baru, after he lost almost half his income since the pandemic started and was unable to put food on the table for his 29-year-old pregnant wife and two young children.

       “I am not sure if what I am doing is right or wrong but I am doing it for my children and wife as we have no more food,” he added.

       Besides unable to pay the rent and car instalments, Zulkiflie said that he could not even afford to buy infant milk powder and diapers for his one-year-old son Putra Riqzi Zilhelmi while his nine-year-old daughter Putri Nur Zahirah has disabilities.

       “I hoisted the flag two nights ago when I saw there was a campaign on social media and thankfully, help has been pouring in to help sustain my family for the next few months,” he said.

       He added that there were even netizens who were willing to settle his rent arrears amounting to RM800 and three months of unpaid car instalments amounting to RM1,200.

       “It was only to entertain my fans. Besides that, what was shown in the video does not show my true personality,” he said.

       The actor, who is of German ancestry, said that his girlfriend, local actress Janna Nick, was aware of the video which he posted on his Instagram account recently.

       “There is no issue of us quarrelling or that I have to coax her. We are fine,” he added.
