KUALA LUMPUR: Straits Energy Resources Bhd has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Baicells Technologies Co Ltd to collaborate on driving wireless network communication business opportunities from the 4G and 5G rollout and also in the digital transformation of the oil and gas industry.

       Baicells Technologies is an international company, providing technical innovative 4G Long-Term Evolution (LTE) and 5G New Radio Access Solutions that connect more than 50 countries across the globe.

       "The digital economy and technology will be the backbone of the nation’s economy and Straits is mobilising resources rapidly to ride on this vast digital arena both in the 4G and 5G technology rollout and also in the digital transformation of the oil and gas industry.

       "With our business infrastructure and networking, we are optimistic that we can contribute to the ongoing digitalisation process of both the public and private sector with the strong backing of Baicells Technologies and other collaboration partners," said Straits group managing director Datuk Sri Ron Ho Kam Choy.

       He added that company also intends to drive the digital transformation of the O&G industry by enhancing the usage of automation, surveillance, remote operations and big data analytics through the IoT to achieve better performance and productivity.
