BALIK PULAU: Police have detained a man after he was suspected of taking pictures of women's underwear using his mobile phone at Queensbay Mall, Penang.

       Balik Pulau OCPD Superintendent Kamarul Rizal Jenal said the suspect, in his 20s, was caught in the act by the public and was handed over to the police on Monday (Jan 10).

       "The suspect was apprehended while taking pictures of women's underwear at one of the shopping mall premises," he said in a statement on Monday (Jan 10).

       Supt Kamarul said police confiscated two handphones, a powerbank, and a black bag believed to belong to the suspect.

       The suspect had no prior criminal record and would be remanded for two days beginning Monday (Jan 10).

       The case was being investigated under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955.
