JOHOR BARU: Johor Barisan Nasional would be changing its strategies to gain the support of the younger generation in the state election, says caretaker Mentri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad.
He said that this was necessary following the implementation of Undi18.
“The Johor state election will be the first that will see the participation of voters between the ages of 18 and 20.
“As such, we need to rearrange our strategies to gain the support of the younger generation.
“We have mobilised our election machinery led by younger members at the party level.
“Barisan has also received the cooperation of non-governmental organisations in approaching the younger generation,” he added.
Hasni was speaking to reporters after attending the closing ceremony of the briefing session of the Johor MIC election machinery at Kompleks Tan Sri Mohamed Rahmat here.
He said he was confident that Barisan would be able to take on the challenge and gain the support of this new group of voters.
“We cannot take the matter for granted or take it easy.
“We need to rearrange our strategies and approaches,” he added.
