MELAKA: Dozens of trishaw riders received their duit raya from the Chief Minister when RM200 was credited into their e-wallet.

       Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali distributed the one-off payment to 305 trishaw riders yesterday.

       “Trishaw riders are the first to receive the payments through this scheme,” he said after handing over Hari Raya Aidilfitri goodies to trishaw riders in Bandar Hilir here.

       He said the payment was distributed through the digital platform to minimise the spread of Covid-19.

       “Furthermore, it is the objective of the state government to transform our trishaw riders to adapt to digital payment methods,” he said.

       Sulaiman said the state government would also ensure that the 20 other trishaw riders who had yet to register for the e-wallet would do so before Hari Raya.
