PETALING JAYA: The Securities Commission (SC) has extended the deadline for the issuance of a Real Estate Investment Trust’s (REIT’s) annual report to four months after its financial year end.

       In a statement, the regulator said the adjustment of the deadline, which was previously set at two months, aligns the reporting timeline for listed REITs with that of public-listed companies on Bursa Malaysia.

       The SC said it granting the listed REITs an equal time for annual report issuance, it was recognising the similarities in content requirements to ensure consistency across both types of entities.
