A 13-year-old boy was shot and wounded Monday afternoon in the Fairlawn neighborhood of Southeast Washington, according to D.C. police.

       The boy was reported to be conscious when he was taken to a hospital.

       The shooting occurred just before 4 p.m. in the 2300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE, near Minnesota Avenue.

       Police said they were looking for a man and a woman in connection with the attack. They said the man was armed with a semiautomatic handgun.
