KUALA LUMPUR: Police have busted a drug laboratory in Mont Kiara here following the seizure of more than RM160,000 worth of narcotics in several raids.
Eight men were also detained during the series of raids on Monday (Sept 20).
Kuala Lumpur Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) chief Asst Comm Sahar Abd Latif said police raided a condominium in Mont Kiara at about 8pm on Monday.
"We detained four men at the unit and seized 11.95kg of heroin as well as 25kg of caffeine.
"We also seized various equipment and items used to process drugs," he said when contacted on Thursday (Sept 23).
Further investigation led police to two other locations in Jalan Ipoh and Kampung Baru Subang, he added.
"We detained another four men who had connections with the syndicate," he said.
ACP Sahar said six of suspects tested positive for drugs and had criminal records.
"We also seized four vehicles used by the suspects.
"We believe the suspects have been in operation for about two months, catering for the Klang Valley market," he added.
The drugs seized were worth RM168,630 while the vehicles were worth RM163,400, he said.
"The drugs seized could have catered to 23,900 addicts.
"The suspects have been remanded until Sunday (Sept 26)," he said.
