Anti-vaxxer Mr Corbyn has been arrested after a video emerged of him urging violence against MPs. The 73-year-old conspiracy theorist has led calls for his band of supporters to burn down the offices of MPs and "hammer to death" politicians who voted for Covid restrictions. Mr Corbyn's views were widely shared on social media, sparking a wave of condemnation.

       In a statement, the Met Police said: "A man, aged in his 70s, has been arrested on suspicion of encouragement to commit arson.

       "He was arrested in Southwark at around 01:45hrs on Sunday, 19 December.

       "The arrest relates to a video posted online in which people were encouraged to burn down MPs’ offices.

       "The man remains in custody at a central London police station."

       Mr Corbyn announced launched his attack against "those scum who have decided to go ahead with introducing new fascism".

       He said: "You've got to get a list of them and if your MP is one of them, go to their offices and, well, I would recommend burning them down, OK.

       "But I can't say that on air.

       "I hope we're not on air."

       In a separate video, Mr Corbyn was filmed performing a rap song in which he mocked those taking the coronavirus booster jab.

       In the video, he said: “I’m not a loser, I don’t want the booster”.

       Mr Crobyn's rant was condemned Labour MP Yvette Cooper, who wrote: “Appalling Piers Corbyn video.

       “We have lost two MPs to terrible violence in recent years - we know how incredibly serious this is.

       “Police will have all our support pursuing this.”

       One Twitter user called garethaethwy tweeted: "Met Police UK, this is evidence enough of incitement to commit arson?

       "Surely this also a public order offence?

       "Happening today.

       "With video evidence.

       "Surely that’s recent enough for you to investigate?"
