A MUM is forking out ￡35 a week feeding her four-year-old son’s cravings for cheese.

       Dawn Baker-Knox reckons little Alfie got his taste for it when she started becoming whey too fondue of the stuff during pregnancy.

       A video of Alfie grating cheese straight into his mouth even racked up 700,000 views on social media last month

       He was gobbling it up by the time he was a toddler and now has an ￡1,800-a-year habit.

       Dawn, 43, said: “When I was pregnant, all I ever wanted to eat was cheese. I’d sit there with chunks of cheese, any type, as long as it wasn’t stinky. It must have been Alfie demanding it from the womb.

       “He’s literally addicted to cheese. Apart from breakfast he has it with every meal.

       “He won’t eat school dinners because they can’t incorporate cheese like we can.

       “Everything in his packed lunch has to have cheese in it, from cheese strings to cheese dips.

       “Then, even when I make dinner I’ve got to grate cheese on it, no matter what it is. I have to make sure we never run out.”

       His mum said Alfie’s first favourite was Cheestrings before moving on to red Leicester, mini-cheddars and Babybels.

       And now he can’t camembert to be without any sort of cheese.
