In 1980, Mary Robertson employed 18-year-old Diana to look after her baby son Patrik while they were away. Speaking in the new CNN documentary series Diana which will premiere on Sunday, the business woman shared her first impression of the young royal, stating the teen was different to the Princess the public grew to love.
Ms Robertson revealed the young Princess of Wales, at the time known as Diana Spencer, was “shy” with “no world experience”.
However, the mother added the future royal was 'just wonderful' with her child.
The mother recalled that she had no idea the teen she had hired would soon be engaged to the Prince of Wales.
Just over a year later, Diana and Prince Charles tied the knot in front of millions at St Paul's Cathedral in London.

“When Diana came to me as a shy 18-year-old babysitter, she'd had very little world experience - none at all - and she was just wonderful with Patrick,” Ms Robertson said.
“She sat on the floor with him and she was totally focused on him.”
“One of her strongest characteristics was she was very tactile, she wanted to hug people, reach out and touch them.
“That basic warm, trusting, loving, caring personality was always there.”

The future princess worked for the family three days a week, earning $5-an-hour (￡4).
However, that was not Diana's only occupation.
At the time the teen was also employed as a nursery school teacher when she was not looking after Ms Robertson's infant.
Diana handed in her notice when she moved to Buckingham palace, but the mother said the pair kept in touch and were close friends.
“We continued a correspondence for the next 16 years,” she told Inside Edition.
