COPS have launched an urgent investigation after two pedestrians and their dog died in a horror collision involving a black BMW X5.

       The pair, a man and a woman in their 60s, were walking their dog in Maidstone, Kent, before the shocking crash around 1.40pm yesterday.

       Tragically, both pedestrians, along with their canine companion, were pronounced deceased at the scene on Thurnham Lane.

       Kent Police have now put out a call for witnesses after the fatal collision.

       Officers attended the scene along with South East Coast Ambulance Service.

       Cops confirmed to The Sun that the driver remained at the scene.

       The road, between Pilgrims Way in Thurnham, and the Ware Street in Bearsted, was closed for several hours but has since re-opened.

       Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any other information or dashcam footage prior to, or at the time of the collision, is urged to call Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
