A 3-month-old boy who had been in critical condition after a hit-and-run crash early Sunday has died, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Sebastian Taylor, of the 7200 block of South Morgan Street, died at 2:42 a.m. Monday at Comer Children’s Hospital, where he had been a patient for a little less than 24 hours, since the crash at 1:15 a.m. Sunday, according to the medical examiner’s office and Chicago police.
Taylor had been one of four people in a black sedan that had been traveling east on Pershing Road, near the 3900 block of South State Street in the Robert Taylor Homes neighborhood, when it was struck by a stolen burgundy Chevrolet Malibu headed south on State Street, police said.
A 32-year-old woman in the black sedan also was killed. She had not been identified as of Tuesday morning.
Also in the black sedan were a 41-year-old man and a 12-year-old boy. The teen had been ejected from the vehicle upon impact and he most recently had been listed in critical condition at Comer Children’s Hospital.
Police did not release details about the man’s injuries, stating only that he had been being treated at the University of Chicago Medical Center. No condition had been released.
Authorities said the Chevrolet Malibu had earlier been reported stolen and there had been two males in it at the time of the crash. They each took off running and had not been located as of Tuesday. Police did not immediately provide additional information about the clothes they were last seen wearing or physical descriptions.
