Glenwood police are investigating the shooting death of a man found early Monday morning in a parked vehicle, while a Lansing man has been charged in a July 6 homicide in that suburb.
Glenwood police responded at 12:30 a.m. to a report of gunshots near Center Street and Pine Lane, police Chief Derek Peddycord wrote in a message to village officials Monday.
Police found a man in his early 20s inside a parked vehicle on a private driveway, the chief wrote. He was taken to a hospital where he later died, according to the chief.
Peddycord, in the message to village officials, said it appeared the victim was targeted, and that police were being assisted by the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force.
Separately, Lansing police said that an initial court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday for 37-year-old Juwan Frazier, who was charged Monday in connection with the July 6 shooting death of a Chicago man.

Police said Floyd Steele, 34, had been shot multiple times while parked in a car in the 17100 block of Grant Street. He was taken to a hospital in Hammond, Indiana, where he was later pronounced dead. The Lake County, Indiana coroner’s office determined his death was a homicide.
Police investigators said Frazier went to the Grant Street address, where he previously lived, and saw his former girlfriend in a vehicle with Steele, who he confronted before firing several shots.
Police said Frazier turned himself in to police Monday.
