A 22-year-old man charged with first-degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood Saturday night was denied bail in a Monday court hearing.
Raekwon Drake has been charged with one count of first-degree murder, Chicago police said in a news release Monday. He was arrested Saturday about 8 p.m. in the 1900 block of West Ogden Avenue in the Tri-Taylor neighborhood.
Drake is accused of shooting a 26-year-old man in the 1800 block of South Paulina Street in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood about 6 p.m. The man suffered gunshot wounds in the neck and head. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the medical examiner’s office.
Another man, 22, and a 23-year-old woman who were on the sidewalk also suffered gunshot wounds to their right shoulders and were taken to Stroger Hospital where they were listed in good condition, police said.
Police would not say whether Drake was accused of shooting them.
Drake was denied bail and is due in court on July 30.
