A 17-year-old boy was arrested and charged in connection with a fatal shooting that took place on a CTA Red Line “L” train last month in Fuller Park.
The teen was arrested on the Near North Side Wednesday in the first block of East Chicago Avenue.
Police accused him of being one of three people involved in the slaying of a 23-year-old man, who was later identified as Kaiwaun Crayton, according to information from the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Police have said that while on the Red Line Aug. 19, near the Garfield station, Crayton was approached by three unknown males. One of them pulled out a gun, fired and struck Crayton in the arm.
He was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The teen arrested Wednesday had not been identified by police because he is a juvenile. However, he was expected to have his case automatically transferred to adult bond court.
