More than 40 adults and children were displaced Thursday morning after a fire broke out in an apartment building in the Landover area.
Prince George’s County Fire officials said they got a call around 2:42 a.m. to report a fire at an apartment building in the 2400 block of Brightseat Road near Landover Road.

When firefighters arrived at the three-story building, they found flames coming from the roof.
The fire was put out, and officials said 24 adults and 19 children were displaced as a result of the blaze. The Red Cross is assisting them.
Two people were taken to a hospital for evaluation, fire officials said. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
