A pregnant woman was shot Sunday afternoon while she was seated in her vehicle in the 6000 block of Eastern Avenue NE, D.C. police said.

       The incident occurred about 1:47 p.m., D.C. police said. The shooter left the scene in a white Kia sedan with Maryland temporary tags, police said.

       The woman pulled over in Prince George’s County and called 911, D.C. police said. Prince George’s County Fire and EMS officials transported her from the 6300 block of New Hampshire Avenue in Takoma Park, about three-tenths of a mile from where she was shot, to a hospital, county officials said.

       The woman’s injuries were serious but not life-threatening, county officials said.
