Tonight's National Lottery Lotto draw is a 'Must Be Won' draw and it means exactly that. The Lotto jackpot has rolled over five times already. So the jackpot must be won tonight by a lucky winner, or it will be shared with all other prize winners.

       To win the jackpot in any Lotto game, players must match six main numbers.

       But in a Lotto Must Be Won draw, when no one matches six main numbers, there is a Rolldown.

       During a Rolldown, the jackpot is shared among all other players who match two or more main numbers.

       According to the Lotto website, this relatively new system could mean thousands win a boosted cash prize in a Must Be Won draw.

       In a Must Be Won draw, match two winners can expect to receive an extra ￡5 if the jackpot isn't won.

       This ￡5 bonus is in addition to the traditional Lucky Dip that match two winners already receive.

       The remaining jackpot is then distributed among the other winning prize tiers based on percentages set by the National Lottery.

       Before a Must Be Won draw, the Lotto has to have rolled over for several games.

       Lotto starts with a starting jackpot and if it isn't won, the next game is a Rollover.

       Following a Rollover is a Double Rollover, a Triple Rollover, a Quadruple Rollover before finally, the next draw is a Must Be Won game.

       The new Lotto rolldown rules came into place on November 7, 2020.

       Playing Lotto is simple, just pick six numbers from 1-59 or select a Lucky Dip for random numbers.

       Lotto draws take place every Wednesday and Saturday and it costs ￡2 to play.

       Tickets can be purchased online via the National Lottery website from 6am until 11pm, but the tickets need to be purchased before 7.30pm on a draw day to count.

       The July 7 Lotto draw has now taken place.

       Tonight's winning Lotto numbers are 40, 3, 52, 2, 7, 20 and the bonus ball is 14.

       One lucky winner has won the jackpot in tonight's draw, it has been announced.

       Camelot's Andy Carter, senior winners' adviser at the National Lottery, said, "What fantastic news for a single ticket-holder who has won tonight's massive ￡13.1 million 'must be won' Lotto jackpot.

       "Players are being urged to check their tickets and to give us a call to claim this fantastic prize."

       No-one matched five numbers, plus the bonus to win ￡1 million.

       There was no winner of the ￡350,000 top prize for Lotto HotPicks, which uses the same numbers as the Lotto draw.

       The winning Thunderball numbers were 32, 09, 02, 15, 23 and the Thunderball was 08.

       No-one scooped the top prize of ￡500,000.
