NABARI, Mie -- This central Japan city's municipal government is auctioning two fire-fighting vehicles and a pump online to supplement city funds.
Up for auction are two 1996-registered Subaru "V-KS4" 650 cc light trucks for loading fire-fighting equipment -- one has 5,974 kilometers on the clock, the other 8,801 km -- and a Tohatsu Corp. small power pump "V6602B-2," purchased in August 1997.
Those looking to bid must make a preliminary application on the "KSI Kankocho Auction" site (https://kankocho.jp/) and submit a prescribed form and other documents to the municipal government's contract administration office directly or by mail. The preliminary applications deadline is 2 p.m. on Sept. 21, and full applications must be completed by 5:15 p.m. on Sept. 30.
Reserve prices are 7,000 yen (about $63) for each vehicle and 1,500 yen (about $14) for the pump. Bids can be made on the auction website between 1 p.m. on Oct. 5 and 1 p.m. on Oct. 12.
According to the city's contract administration office, in 2020 the municipal government also auctioned two lightweight fire-fighting trucks and two pumps. The trucks fetched 207,000 yen (about $1,900) each, and the pumps went for 35,000 yen (roughly $320) and 45,000 yen (approximately $400).
