TOKYO (Kyodo) -- Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi said Friday he will make a three-day trip to New York from Wednesday to attend the U.N. General Assembly.
Motegi told a regular press conference in Tokyo that he will also attend a foreign ministerial meeting with Germany, India and Brazil to discuss their goal of becoming permanent members of the U.N. Security Council.
Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, who will stepping down later this month, will not attend the assembly, according to government sources.
